A Letter to Black Men
A mini-series adaptation of the award winning short film, expanding a story about family, influence, and a young man pulled between competing paths.
Soft Cries & Sweet Music
A romantic drama centred on a couple whose argument exposes control, insecurity, and what it means to be seen inside a relationship.
Soft Cries & Sweet Music is written as an allegory for jazz, specifically the relationship between piano and trumpet. The film plays like a duet: one voice holding structure, the other reaching for freedom; one comping, one soloing; both fighting for space in the same song.
In the script, that tension shows up as a love story under pressure: Alex and Sam move from misread cues and interruptions into a full breakdown about control and selfhood. Who gets the floor, who gets to exist, and what “love” looks like when it becomes rules.
